St. Nicholas Day- 05th December 2021
St. Nicholas sold all that he owned & money to the needy people around. He dedicated his entire life to serving and caring for the people who are sick and suffering. Many countries in Europe celebrate St. Nicholas Day starting on the eve of the 5th of December, by sharing candies, chocolate letters, small gifts, and riddles. Children put out their shoes with carrots and hay hoping that St. Nicholas will exchange them for small gifts and treat. This day is majorly celebrated in many small towns and villages of Russia and Greece.
Hanukkah- 28th November to 06th December 2021
This festive is an eight-day celebration that starts from the evening of 28th November 2021 and ends on 6th December 2021. Hanukkah is also known with different names such as Chanukah, Chanukkah, Feast of Dedication, Festival of Lights, or Feast of the Maccabees, or Jewish festival. The most common tradition of Hanukkah is the lighting of a celebratory menorah. Many families of the Jewish faith have these menorahs in their houses. Menorahs are ignited with a primary candle first, and that candle is used to light an additional candle for each night with the chanting of Judaic blessings before and during the process of lighting the candles.
St. Lucia Day- 13th December 2021
St. Lucia is also named as the festival of lights which is majorly celebrated in Sweden, Norway, and the Swedish-speaking areas of Finland. This day falls on 13th December in honour of St. Lucia (St. Lucy), an earliest Christian Martyr. She was killed after she was accused of silently providing food to Christians living and hiding in the mazes of underground catacombs below the city of Rome. This festival is celebrated as young girls walk around dressed traditionally with wreaths on their heads and candles. This winter holiday symbolizes light in the middle of long, dark Nordic winters.
Winter Soliscate- 20th to 23rd December 2021
The December solstice marks the shortest day north of the equator and the longest day in the south. The December Solstice can happen on 20th, 21st, 22nd, or 23rd December, however, 20th & 23rd December solstices are rare. On this day, people light up bonfires and candles to lure back the sun. Some people can’t wait for the cooler weather, snow, skiing and ice skating, curling up by a fire, and the holiday spirit. You will notice a peaceful sort of silence when you walk through the woods—a muffled kind of quiet.

Kwanzaa- 26th December 2021
Kwanzaa is a weeklong celebration of African-American culture and heritage beginning on 26th December 2021 and ending on 01 January. Millions of people in the United States and around the world celebrate this festival by wearing traditional African clothing during the celebration. Families observe St. Lucia’s Day in their homes by having their eldest daughter dressed in white and serving coffee and baked goods, such as saffron bread (lussekatter) and ginger biscuits, to the other members of the family or the visitors during the day. Kwanzaa is a spiritual holiday that is celebrated from 26th December to 1st January. During these holidays, African Americans dress up in special clothes, decorate their houses with fruits and vegetables, and light a kinara (candle holder).
New Year Eve- 31st December 2021
The December Global Holidays of the year-end up with the New Year’s Eve that falls on 31st December 2021. Common traditions of celebrating New Year include attending parties at the office, eating special New Year’s foods, and making resolutions for the new year. In London, people celebrate the last day of the year on a high with dinner and music at a restaurant with amazing views of the London New Year’s Eve fireworks. Omisaka Festival is celebrated on 31st December 2021 in Japanese culture and is also named as Japenese New Year and is celebrated by people purifying their homes and removing last year’s clutter by cleaning from top to bottom. People plan a giant feast with their friends and family with some traditional Japanese foods.
